The potted motherplant will periodically send out seeds, or you /creatures can press it to dispense some. It will check to see if seeds are nearby to not over-saturate, and if the seeds land on soil with a little heat, light, water and nutrients, they will sprout.
The plants are decently prolific but won't sprout if too many plants and seeds are in the immediate vicinity!
