Before you download this new world, please note that Darwinia is for Creatures 1 only. Please make sure that you are running at least version 1.02 of Creatures, I don't think that Darwinia will work correctly with version 1.0. I have tested it myself under version 1.04. If you are still running version 1.0, you should consider to download the free updates at Creature Labs.

Installation  guide - Please read carefully!

It is very easy to install Darwinia: Please unzip all files from the images archives to your Creatures/Images directory. The background sprite also goes in this directory. The files in the sound archive go in your Creatures/Sounds directory. Please copy darwinia.sfc to your Creatures directory. If you have the doctor cheat enabled, you can open it directly from the world menu, if you don't have the cheats, please rename your world.sfc to something else (i.e. world.old) and rename darwinia.sfc world.sfc. The next time you start Creatures, Darwinia will be loaded instead of Albia or Terra Nornia.

Credits

Before you scroll down quickly because this stuff does not interest you at all, I want to tell you that I would not have been able to make a new world for Creatures 1 without the pioneer work of other people. We all know of whom I am talking. This is why I have included the credits on this page rather than only in the documentation file which most of you probably won't read.

Darwinia is based on one of Sandra Linkletter's starter worlds. She has also contributed all of the basic scripts such as the lifts, the incubator and the eggs, the bees and the bee hives and the doors. For more details please read the documentation file that is included with the world file. Slink has left the Creatures community a long while ago, her cobs and worldbuilding stuff are now archived at Slink's Specials.
